How The Intra Club Flounder Points System Works
Posted by Maddog on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 @ 15:57:02 EDT (7 reads)
Intra Club Flounder Points System
Points are awarded, for Flounder only, in each of the five designated tournaments. First place Flounder gets 50 points, Second place flounder gets 49 points . . . Fifth place gets 46 points and on down the line. If twenty people fish and only five flounder are entered, everyone else gets Sixth place (sixth through twenty gets 45 points). The entry fee for each tournament is $25.00 per person. The normal payoff has been changed due to large turnouts: either 2,3,4 or 5 places will be split. (15 people or less- 60% + 40%, 16 people or more - 50% + 30% + 20%, 40 people or more - 40% + 30% + 20% + 10%, 70 people or more 30% + 25% + 20% + 15% + 10% ). The club keeps 10% of the purse as a retainer.
The club will award a plaque plus a cash prize for the top five finishers in accumulated points over the five tournaments. In addition, the next five finishers will receive a cash prize. The person that finishes in 1st place in points for the year will receive a free flounder mount donated by "Hunter's Haven Taxidermy" for the largest flounder caught during the year by that individual. ( It will be the winners resposibility to keep up with the length and girth). There is no entry fee: you are automatically entered when you fish an Intra Club Tournament. The top 45 places will be posted on website and updated after each tournament.
The five designated Tournaments will be held at Carolina Beach with dates posted in advance. If you can't fish one, you can pay the entry fee and still receive last place points. In case of a tie in points at the seasons end, the person with the largest Flounder in the Tournament wins.
Due to the large turnout we may have to go to a 75 points system. That decision will be made before we have our 1st tournament.

Founder Warm Up Tournament
Posted by Maddog on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 @ 14:59:33 EDT (5 reads)
Flounder Warm Up Tournament
The flounder warm up tournament scheduled for May 24th has been cancelled due to the fact that it is Memorial Day weekend and we had several requests to reschedule the tournament to another day. With our first points tournament just a few weeks away it would be impossible to reschedule. The Fisherman's Post tournament is May 17th and it can serve as a warm up just like last year. This year the club has donated $250.00 to the "Got-Em-On" club member that catches the largest flounder in the tournament and also the club cup is up for grabs.

Nautical Yard Sale
We will be having a "Nautical Yard Sale" on Saturday March 29th. The location will be at 910 N Lake Park Blvd, the vacant lot across from Bowman's Seafood Restaurant. The event will be from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm, but if you plan on selling you should plan on being there earlier. This event is open for any Got-Em-On club member to sell their unwanted fishing and nautical items, or just come by and shop around for items that others have gotten tired of or no longer need.
If you plan to set up a table, or if you're just not into yard sales but would like to donate some items to the club, please contact one of the board or committee members and let them know. We would like to get some idea of how many people that are interested in selling.
This is a new event for the club and hope that it turns out to be a big success!!!
