******Note the following significant changes for the 2025 Lady Angler Tournament:
This tournament will follow the same format and rules as the other 5 inshore tournaments with the exception that female participants will fish as individuals and not teams. As such this will be a 2-fish individual aggregate tournament. Participants can “weigh” up to 2 fish from Flounder, Red Drum, Trout (Grey or Speckled). Only 1 Red Drum (no longer Spanish or King Mackerel).
Everyone must have fun!
- All boat occupants must be members in good standing.
- All entries must meet current state or federal regulations.
- All participants are responsible for identify/marking their own fish.
- Fishing hours will be from 6:30 am until 4:00 pm.
- Weigh-in will be at Carolina Beach Boatyard, between 3:30 and 4:00 pm. You must be in weigh-in line no later than 4:00 pm.
- Intra Club Tournament Entries do not have to be caught on live bait (ex. Spanish on Clark Spoons or Trout on Mirrolures); however, those fish not caught on live bait are not eligible for the annual Chart Buster Tournament.
- In the case of a tie, the first fish weighed wins.
- Amendments to the rules may be announced prior to or at tournament registrations.
- A person cannot enter a fish caught by someone else. You must physically make the catch (i.e. 2 ladies on same boat, one catches 2 fish, cannot share with the 2nd lady).
- Only the ladies entered in the tournament can fish during the tournament.
- The captain or man on the boat can catch bait, bait hooks, cast rod, and gaff/net fish. He cannot fish/hold the rod and set the hook and then hand it over to be reeled in. He can get it out of a rod holder and hand it to a woman.
- Any rule that needs a variation for a specific need, bring to the board to get waiver as needed.
- The tournament fish species shall be Flounder, Red Drum, Trout (Grey or Speckled).
- All fish must be NC legal and must be brought to the scales to weigh in. Example Red Drum must be In Slot and brought to the scale. Flounder when out of season, you will take a picture on a hard measuring device, showing the mouth closed up against the end, clearly showing fish length on the ruler. Flounder winner is based on length.
